The Wolf and the Crane

A Wolf had a bone stuck in his throat. He asked a Crane to pull it out, promising a reward. The Crane did it.

“Where’s my reward?” asked the Crane.

“You’re lucky I didn’t bite your head off,” said the Wolf.

Moral: Don’t expect gratitude from the wicked.
