The Traveler and Fortune

A Traveler walking along the road found a bag full of gold coins.

He shouted, “How lucky I am! What great fortune!”

But when the owner came to claim it, the Traveler said, “Oh no! Misfortune has come upon me!”

Fortune, overhearing him, said, “You claimed me when you gained—but disowned me when things got hard. You don’t deserve either!”

Moral: You can't praise good luck and then blame bad luck as if they aren't both part of life.
