The Thief and the Innkeeper

A Thief stayed at an inn. He was treated kindly and fed well.

The next day, the Thief stole the Innkeeper’s silver cup and ran off.

Later, when he was caught, he said, “I didn’t mean to hurt anyone.”

The judge replied, “Kindness makes your crime worse, not better.”

Moral: Taking advantage of generosity is especially shameful.
