The Ass and the Lapdog
A man had a Lapdog who loved to jump into his lap and be petted. The man adored him.
An Ass saw this and thought, “I work harder than that little dog. I should get the same love.”
So he ran up, jumped into the man’s lap, and brayed loudly.
The man shouted in shock, and his servants beat the Ass for his behavior.
Moral: Don’t try to imitate others if it doesn’t suit your nature.
