The Wolf and the Crane (Revisited)

A Wolf had a bone stuck in his throat and begged a Crane to remove it. She carefully used her beak to pull it out.

When she asked for payment, the Wolf growled, “You should be glad I didn’t eat you!”

Moral: Never expect a reward from the ungrateful.
