The Ass and the Lapdog

A man had a Lapdog that he loved dearly. The Lapdog would jump on his lap, lick his face, and play.

An Ass saw this and thought, “I’ll get the same affection if I act like the Lapdog.”

So he ran to his master, tried to climb on his lap, and brayed loudly.

The man yelled, “Get off!” and beat the Ass with a stick.

Moral: Don’t try to imitate those who aren’t like you—it might not end well.
