The Fox and the Cat

A Fox and a Cat were talking about how many tricks they each knew to escape danger.

“I know a hundred ways to get away from the hunters,” said the Fox proudly. “How many do you know?”

“Just one,” said the Cat. “But it works.”

Suddenly, hunters arrived. The Cat quickly ran up a tree and hid. The Fox tried to decide which trick to use—and was caught.

Moral: Having one reliable plan is better than having many you can’t use in time.
