The Wolf and the Shepherd’s Dog

A hungry Wolf met a well-fed Dog and admired how healthy he looked.

“You could look like this too,” said the Dog. “Just come work for my master.”

“What do I have to do?” asked the Wolf.

“Not much—just guard the house and be tied up during the day.”

“No thanks,” said the Wolf. “I’d rather be hungry and free than full and chained.”

Moral: Freedom is more valuable than comfort with restrictions.
