The Ass Carrying Salt

An Ass loaded with salt crossed a river and accidentally slipped. The salt melted, and his load became lighter.

Happy with this trick, he repeated it the next day on purpose.

So his master loaded him with sponges instead. When the Ass slipped, the sponges soaked up water and became much heavier.

Moral: Tricks can backfire—especially if done out of laziness.
