The Lion and the Dolphin

A Lion made a deal with a Dolphin—“Let’s be allies. You rule the sea, I rule the land.”

Later, the Lion needed help in battle and called the Dolphin.

The Dolphin said, “I can’t help—I can’t leave the water!”

The Lion was angry, but the Dolphin replied, “Don’t make promises you can’t keep.”

Moral: A friend who can’t help in need isn’t much help at all.
